What to Expect

Sweet Lucy’s Bakeshop Cooking Classes are an intimate, hands-on experience with small classes of 12 people or fewer. Here are a few things to know and to expect:

Cancellation policy: Please view policies here.

What to wear: Please dress in comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting flour on. We recommend closed-toe, protective shoes, and minimal jewelry. We provide aprons and side towels.

What to bring: We provide recipes, all equipment, small tools, ingredients to cook with, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages to drink. You are welcome to bring anything else you’d like to drink while you are cooking, but please plan to pour it yourself.

When to arrive: We ask that you do not arrive more than five minutes early, to allow our instructors time to get ready. Our class formats allow 5 minutes in the beginning to get settled in, have informal meet & greets and to allow time to get your hands washed and aprons on. In order to be respectful of everyone’s time, we highly encourage all guests to show up as close to the scheduled event as possible.

Dietary Concerns: If you have an allergy or dietary restriction, please email us at sweetlucysbakeshop@gmail.com before registering for a class. We’ll do our best to accommodate, but please note it may not always be possible. Because we use nuts, peanuts, gluten, eggs, dairy, soy, sesame, and shellfish in our facility and many recipes, we recommend waiting for confirmation before signing up. As a reminder, all Sweet Lucy’s Cooking Classes are non-refundable for any reason, so please check carefully before purchasing.

Conduct: Sweet Lucy’s Bakeshop Cooking School is committed to providing our students with a fun and educational experience for all. In order to facilitate this, and have a common understanding, we offer these guidelines for all students to follow.

  • Please arrive on time and ready to get your hands dirty! All classes are hands-on, and in order to get the best out of your experience, we recommend your full participation.
  • We ask that students minimize cellphone use and refrain from outside distractions. Although we encourage photos, no-sound videos and sharing your experience on social media, we do not allow students to voice record while instruction is happening.
  • Please be considerate of other students’ level of experience.
  • We take pride in the equipment, tools, and ingredients we use. Please treat them with care. If you are unsure how to use a piece of equipment or where it is stored, our instructors will gladly assist you.

Thank you for helping make Sweet Lucy’s Bakeshop Cooking School the best place to learn cooking around!
