Preserving Sweet Summer

In this introductory class on preserving, you will learn how to pick fruit at its best possible moment, then seal it in a jar to last you all winter!  We will share the basic science and safety behind the age-old tradition of canning.  In this hands-on class we will use the traditional canning method but update it with some modern recipes-you will make a tangy sweet Roasted Strawberry Jam, then take juicy blueberries and turn them into zippy Spiced Blueberry Pickles and last, we will put a modern twist on Peach-Orange Marmalade. Take home a jar of each to brighten up your breakfast toast, ice cream Sunday, and or zest to your green salad.

In this hands-on class you will learn:

*Peach-Orange Marmalade

Includes: 2-hour preserves class, hors d’oeuvres, and a jar of each of your creations.
